Eva Konigsberg, EA, MBA
Tax & The Unemployed
What you need to know to save money on tax when you're unemployed.
She will speak about special issues that affect the unemployed. Topics include where to report job search expenses, freelance issues, and what to do if you can't help it and have to tap your retirement account. Additionally she'll talk about hot audit trigger issues that may be most likely to impact you. You need to know the current implications of being a contractor vs. an employee when negotiating with someone offering you an opportunity for work. Because there are so many new tax laws coming into effect in 2011, she will touch on some of these. She will touch on changes in the Earned Income Credit, Roth IRA rollover issues and what they mean to you, and how the new health law affects you. There will also be a question and answer period after the talk.
