Ron Elsdon brings a wealth of experience to organizational consulting and individual coaching and career counseling having created, developed and implemented successful engagements with a wide range of organizations, including many Fortune 500 companies, which span the private, public, educational and non-profit sectors.
His private practice, Elsdon Organizational Renewal (EOR), integrates organizational assessment processes with workforce and leadership development approaches to help revitalize organizations. EOR also draws on the expertise of specialists in database construction, interviewing and demographic analysis.
Ron's extensive work with individuals in coaching and career counseling includes corporate, non-profit and educational settings in addition to his private practice, New Beginnings Career and College Guidance. Ron's specialization in the workforce development and career fields also includes many public speaking, publishing and lecturing engagements, regionally, nationally and internationally. Ron led practices for DBM (a major human resource consulting firm) that supported organizations in improving workforce and leadership effectiveness, and supported senior executives in transition. In 2000, Ron and his co-author were awarded the Walker prize by the Human Resource Planning Society for the paper that best advances state-of-the-art thinking or practices in human resources. Ron recently completed the book "Affiliation in the Workplace: Value Creation in the New Organization" published by Greenwood (2003).
Ron has more than 20 years of leadership experience working with U.S. and international organizations in a broad range of sectors (e.g. semiconductors, chemicals, healthcare, energy and textiles). His responsibilities have included general management for portfolios of growing businesses and management of business development, research and development, and marketing and sales. Ron was responsible for workforce development services delivered to individuals and organizations by the Career Action Center, a non-profit organization specializing in the career field. Prior to this position, he was a general manager in the electronics division of Air Liquide America Corporation, and was with Amoco Chemical Company for 18 years, most recently as Director of Research and Development. Ron has been an adjunct faculty member of Santa Clara and John F. Kennedy Universities and is affiliated with Vanderbilt University. He holds a Ph.D. in Chemical Engineering from the University of Cambridge, a Master's degree in Career Development from John F. Kennedy University, and a first class honors degree in Chemical Engineering from Leeds University.
